17 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Chautauqua County Health Department on Thursday, bringing the number of active cases to 68.
Six of the new cases are in Dunkirk and four in Jamestown. Other positive test locations were: two in Fredonia and Lakewood and one case in Irving, Findley Lake and Frewsburg. There are 313 cases that are being quarantined and monitored by the Public Health Director. Twenty-two other people are in domestic quarantine because they came to Chautauqua County from a state listed on New York State’s Travel Advisory.
As of Tuesday, five people were in the hospital.
In total, the district reports: 646 recovered cases; 13 deaths; 727 confirmed cases in total; and 48,720 negative test results.
Cattaraugus County had 42 active cases as of 6 p.m. Thursday and a total of 270 confirmed cases. So far, 218 people had recovered from the virus.
In addition, 58 residents of the district were in precautionary quarantine, 248 in mandatory quarantine and 33,500 tests for COVID-19 were carried out.
