BLM Mural Painted On Hempstead’s Primary Avenue, Street Renamed ‘Black Lives Matter Method’ – CBS New York


HEMPSTEAD, NY (CBSNewYork) – On Saturday there were expressions of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement on Long Island.

The video from social media shows a new BLM mural along Main Street in the town of Hempstead.

The street has been closed for a ceremony as the street was officially named Black Lives Matter Way.

Officials say it is the first street on Long Island to be painted since the movement began.
