NEW YORK (AP) – Pitcher Brad Brach exercised option 2021 in his contract with the New York Mets on Thursday, a deal worth $ 2,075,000 for the next season.
The 34-year-old right-handed was 1-0 with 5.84 ERA in 14 reliefs in his first full season with the Mets, who signed him in August 2019 after being fired from the Chicago Cubs. He hit 14 and went 14 in 12 1/3 innings.
Brach is a veteran of 10 major league seasons and is between 37 and 27 years old. He has an ERA of 3.39 for San Diego (2011-13), Baltimore (2014-18), Atlanta (2019), the Cubs (2019), and the Mets (2019-20).
He agreed to a deal with the Mets last December that included a salary of $ 850,000 for 2020 and the option of a base price of $ 1.25 million plus escalators. For the season shortened by the pandemic, he earned a proportion of $ 314,815.
