Irving T. Livingston, 95 years old, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Wells Nursing Home.

He was born on May 23, 1925 in Stony Point, New York, to the late John P. Livingston and Naomi June Livingston. Irving was lovingly raised by his great-aunt and uncle Margaret and Tom June.

Irving graduated from Tuxedo High School in Tuxedo Park in 1944. He served his country honorably in the US Naval Reserves. Mr. Livingston graduated from Packard Commercial School in 1946. Irving served for many years as the accountant and treasurer of the Tuxedo Park Association Inc. until he retired in 1989. He was a Methodist Faith and a member of the Sloatsburg United Methodist Church, where he worked for many years in many positions and as a certified lay speaker. Mr. Livingston was a member of the American Legion’s 1643 Sloatsburg Memorial Post and served as commander for three years and post-chaplain for many years. Irving later moved to Fulton County and became a member of the North Main Street UMC in Gloversville, assisting with the free lunch program. He enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and crosswords, and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. Mr. Livingston also loved attending family picnics, holidays, and birthday parties.

He is survived by his two daughters Nancy Marsh (John) from Johnstown and Maryann Braghirol (John) “Flip”) from Moncks Corner, South Carolina; a brother, Denzel Livingston (Grace) from Canastota; three grandchildren, Sandra Marsh, John T. Marsh, and Travis Braghirol; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Marsh, Paige Marsh, Nick Ferrara, and Hayley Lycan; a great-great-grandson, Jayce Marsh; a nephew and three nieces.

Mr. Livingston died of his wife, Dolores James Livingston, whom he married on June 5, 1949, and who died on April 9, 2002.

The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at AG Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, under the direction of Rev. Joyce Royal.

Visits for family and friends will take place before the service on Wednesday, December 23, from 12 to 1 a.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will take place in Fern Dale Cemetery in Johnstown.
