One killed, 5 injured as gunplay rages throughout New York Metropolis


Five people were shot – one fatally – in three separate incidents in Gotham on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

Most recently, 34-year-old Marvin Carroway was blown in the head shortly after midnight in the lobby of his own building on the grounds of NYCHA’s Hughes Houses on Sutter Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard in Brownsville.

A resident found his body and called 911, police said.

He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday around 10 p.m., 16-year-old Amir Patterson was fatally shot on Kingsborough Third Walk near Michael Griffith Street – according to police on the grounds of the Kingsborough Houses in NYCHA.

He was taken to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the police, three cartridge cases were recovered from the scene.

And just before 9 p.m., two men – 18 and 19 – were seriously injured in a drive-by shooting on Findlay Avenue near East 167th Street in Morrisania following an argument, according to police and police officers.

The younger victim was shot in the chest and neck and the older man in the jaw, according to police. EMS transported both to Lincoln Medical Center.

A 20-year-old man was also shot once in the right hand and taken to the same hospital through private funding.

The suspect drove off in a gray van after the shooting, police sources said.

On Tuesday last year, three people were shot dead in just as many incidents, police said.
