New York officials said they shut down an illegal party of more than 200 people in breach of pandemic restrictions in a catering hall.
According to the New York Sheriff’s Office, the revelers at the Queens Luxe Banquet Hall were neither socially distant nor were they wearing appropriate face coverings early Saturday morning.
The owner and an employee of the Queens venue received a subpoena for violating emergency regulations, unlicensed sales of alcohol and unlicensed storage of alcohol. Two other employees were summoned for violating emergency orders, the sheriff’s office said.
A comment was made in the hall on Sunday.
According to New York City guidelines, indoor art and entertainment spaces can operate at 25% of the venue’s capacity and people must wear face-covering except when eating or drinking.
